Support Oakwood Friends School

As with other independent schools, tuition payments alone do not cover the full cost of an Oakwood education. The difference is paid for in part through generous voluntary support from alumni, current and past parents, members of New York Yearly Meeting, friends of the school, and faculty and members of the Board of Managers. Each year, roughly 7% of the school's budget is made up of voluntary, tax-deductible contributions.

Oakwood offers supporters a range of giving opportunities. Each year, our Annual Fund raises well over $200,000 to help pay for current operations. Funds for special projects provide for particular programs or campus enhancements. Scholarship funds help to defray the cost of tuition for families with demonstrated financial need. Some individuals choose to make planned or deferred gifts through a charitable gift annuity or through a bequest. From time to time, the school solicits funds for capital purposes, including major campus renovations and building projects, and to increase the school's endowment funds.

Annual Campaign

Oakwood Friends School's annual fund raises over $200,000 each year to support the school's on-going programs for students. Solicitations are mailed to alumni, friends and families each fall, and every gift, no matter how large or small, is important.

The deadline for giving is June 30th. If you would like to make a contribution, contact the Development Office at 845/462-4200.

Special Projects

From time to time, the school raises funds for specific projects. Recent examples include the purchase of new school buses, the renovation of the dining hall, enhancement of the lighting system in the theater, and the creation of a computer lab and wireless network in Craig Dormitory.
