11th Grade Washington D.C. Trip
Dear 11th Grade Students, Parents and Friends,
I am happy to share with you information on our annual 11th grade trip to Washington, D.C. from Tuesday March 28 until Friday March 31st. This exciting, required component of the junior year curriculum is a unique opportunity for Oakwood Friends School students and will include: community service, a college tour, cultural time in museums and a visit to Capitol Hill and the U.S. Congress.
The group will travel by coach bus and stay at the Hostelling International Youth Hostel.
The total cost of the trip is $465 per student. This price includes transportation to and from Washington, DC, lodging at the youth hostel, and a cash allowance for all meals and public transportation costs. Families who find themselves able to contribute more than the cost of the trip are welcome to donate to help offset the cost for others.
This letter accompanies a permission form. Please sign the form and return it, along with payment, to me by Friday March 3rd. Students will be receiving a copy of our itinerary and a list of contact numbers while we are in D.C. I would be happy to email you an additional copy of this information should you require it.
Please feel free to call either Anna Bertucci at (845) 462-4200 extension 221 or the Coordinator of Community Outreach, Sue Cianfrani at extension 353 if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to hearing from you.
