Teaching at Oakwood Friends SchoolSchool Description

Oakwood Friends School is a Quaker, college-preparatory, co educational, boarding and day school serving approximately 150 students in grades 6-12.  It is a 501(c)(3) not for profit corporation, governed by a self-perpetuating Board of Managers.  Oakwood Friends School is chartered by the New York State Board of Regents and is under the care of New York Yearly Meeting (NYYM) of the Religious Society of Friends.  It is accredited by the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), the Friends Council on Education (FCE), and multiple other professional organizations.

Oakwood offers a generous benefit package that includes retirement, health, life, and disability insurance plans, vacation, family, holiday and sick leave. Many positions are year-round; others offer an academic-year schedule. Given the residential responsibilities of a boarding school, housing is provided for numerous position either in a dormitory or residences on campus.
