Hanchong (Jack) Jin, class of 2016 returned to Oakwood to present to the Middle School and 9th grade about pursuing a degree in engineering. Jack is a sophomore at Boston University majoring in Computer Engineering with a minor in Computer Science. He also has a concentration in Technology Innovation.

During his visit to Oakwood, Jack led workshops with the Middle School and 9th grade, guiding them through activities including creating a marshmallow catapult and building noodle towers, competing to see who could build the tallest structure. He also offered a presentation "Engineers: We Solve Challenges in Society" which opened the students' eyes to the vast options in engineering and the many aspects of life where engineers play a role.

Jack hopes to pursue software engineering and full-stack development in the future as a career. He is very active in extracurricular and academic organizations at BU, including Theta Tau and the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE), and encouraged our students to also get involved with organizations outside of the classroom, both in high school and when they are in college.
