We're continuing our Virtual Arts Lecture series with percussionist Elizabeth Pupo-Walker on Thursday February 11th. Elizabeth received her B.A. from the University of Kentucky and has been studying percussion since 1990. Her primary focus has been the research of Afro-Cuban percussion. She is of Cuban descent and has studied in Havana and Matanzas, Cuba. Elizabeth has performed with John Legend, Reggie Watts, members of Pearl Jam and REM, and the National Symphony Orchestra. She's also played on the soundtrack to the Netflix series “The Get Down” and the HBO series “Vinyl”.
On February 18th we'll be welcoming Teresa Gasparini, the Executive Director and Founding Member of The New Deal Creative Arts Center. Teresa is a local director, actor and producer who has performed in dozens of shows and has directed close to over 50 productions in the Hudson Valley. Ms. Gasparini serves as the Artistic Director of Clove Creek Dinner Theater in Fishkill, NY and is a contributing writer for the online publication Hudson Valley Ovation. Under her leadership, Teresa has brought New Deal to local, national, and international attention through her visionary and out of the box productions and programming.
We look forward to hearing from Elizabeth and Teresa! All are welcome. Contact Arts Chair Ted Messerschmidt at firstname.lastname@example.org to RVSP and for Zoom details.
